26-1-17 | PhD student Jelle Lössbroek in Madrid
Jelle Lössbroek's main goal of his research visit at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid was to collaborate with dr. Jonas Radl in writing a paper, which has just been submitted to a peer-reviewed journal. This paper, which will also be a chapter in Jelle Lössbroek’s PhD dissertation, uses data from the European Sustainable Workforce Survey to explain gender differences in workplace practices and training participation among older workers. During these months, Jonas Radl generously shared his knowledge on older workers in the labour market, statistics, and Madrid’s most recommendable bars & restaurants. Additionally, this period enabled Jelle Lössbroek to present his other research for his temporary Madrid colleagues, attend the Economic Sociology conference hosted at the UC3M, and participate in weekly Spanish conversation classes.
